We were tired of it. So we started villagehosting.in.

What we actually are

We are a small team of engineers who have spent the last decade running servers — first for ourselves, then for friends, then for friends of friends, and now, for a few thousand paying customers. We run our own WHM/cPanel fleet, our own Plesk cluster, our own Virtualizor stack for VPS, and bare-metal in a Chennai datacenter cage. Nothing is white-labelled. Nothing is resold.

When something breaks, the person debugging it also has root access to the machine. When you email support, the person replying can SSH into your box. When we publish an uptime number, it comes from ten external probes measuring every sixty seconds — not from our own servers marking their own homework.

What we will not do

• We will not say "unlimited" when we mean "fair-use".
• We will not quote you ₹99 for month one and ₹399 for month thirteen.
• We will not hide a price increase in a policy PDF nobody reads.
• We will not make you open a ticket to do something you should be able to do in the dashboard.
• We will not keep your data hostage if you want to leave. Migrations out are as free as migrations in.

What we will do

• Publish our real uptime and incident reports, with post-mortems.
• Keep our prices the same at renewal — for as long as you're a customer.
• Put humans on chat, phone and email. Engineers, not call-center scripts.
• Let you SSH into a VPS on the trial plan if you want to benchmark.
• Do your migration for free, at night, with zero downtime.
• Cap CPU/RAM transparently on shared plans, so nobody's noisy neighbour becomes your problem.
