Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 20 April 2026
This policy ("AUP") defines what you can and can't do with our Services. We keep it short and plain.
What we won't host
You may not use villagehosting.in to host or facilitate:
- Content that is illegal under Indian law.
- CSAM (child sexual abuse material) — we report and terminate immediately.
- Phishing, malware, credential harvesting, botnets, or C2 infrastructure.
- Mass unsolicited email (spam) or list-washing operations.
- Copyright-infringing distribution (we honour valid DMCA-style takedowns).
- Fraudulent schemes, Ponzi / pyramid / fake-returns sites.
- Deepfake / non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Hate speech or content inciting violence against people.
- Services specifically designed for doxxing or harassment.
Technical abuse
You may not:
- Run resource-exhausting scripts designed to harm other tenants.
- Use shared hosting to relay outbound SMTP for another service.
- Operate open proxies, open DNS resolvers, or open SMTP relays.
- Launch DDoS or other attacks from our servers.
- Run crypto-mining on shared plans (allowed on VPS/dedicated you pay for).
- Bypass resource limits via process-cloaking or other evasion.
Email-specific
- Every sender must have a reverse-DNS matching the sending IP.
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC must be configured for outbound domains.
- Mailing lists must use confirmed opt-in. We won't host bought lists.
- Unsubscribe links must work and be processed within 24 hours.
Security
- Keep your software patched. We'll email you about known-vulnerable versions; if you ignore, we may patch or isolate.
- Don't store passwords, payment data or PII in plaintext.
- Rotate credentials if we flag a compromise.
Enforcement
When we detect a violation we will:
- Low severity / first-time: email you with a 24–48 hour window to fix.
- Medium severity: temporarily suspend the offending site while keeping the rest of your account online.
- High severity (CSAM, active DDoS, active malware distribution): immediate suspension and termination. Law enforcement notified where required.
We try to be reasonable — most real customers hit medium issues and fix them in an hour.
