What does "managed" WordPress hosting actually mean?
Managed means we handle the server-level work so you can focus on your site. This includes WordPress core updates, plugin updates, security patches, daily backups, caching configuration, CDN setup, and 24/7 server monitoring. You retain full control over your site's content and design — we only touch the infrastructure layer.
Can I install any plugin I want?
Yes. We block a small list of plugins with a history of causing server-level outages (their own authors often know). Everything else is your choice. If a plugin causes a problem, our auto-rollback catches it within 5 minutes and notifies you.
Will you auto-update plugins that might break my site?
We take a screenshot of your homepage and key pages before every update. After the update, we take another screenshot and compare. If the layouts differ significantly, we auto-rollback the plugin to the previous version and alert you. You can also exclude specific plugins from auto-update in the dashboard.
How does the staging environment work?
Click "Create Staging" in your dashboard. Within 2 minutes, your entire site — files, database, theme, plugins — is cloned to staging.yourdomain.com (or a temporary URL). Make changes, test them, and when ready, click "Push to Production". The push is atomic — either it works fully or it doesn't apply at all.
Does managed WordPress hosting work with WooCommerce?
Yes, and it's specifically optimised for it. Cart and checkout pages are correctly excluded from page cache. Product pages are fully cached. On WP Scale, we add Elasticsearch for WooCommerce product search. We've hosted stores doing ₹50L+ in Diwali sales on this stack.
Can I use my own custom WordPress theme?
Absolutely. Custom-built themes, bought themes (Avada, Astra, GeneratePress, etc.), or themes you've coded yourself. We don't restrict theme choice. The only thing we ask is that themes don't include obfuscated code that prevents security scanning.
What happens when my site gets a sudden traffic spike?
LiteSpeed's page cache absorbs most spike traffic — cached pages are served without touching PHP or the database. For sustained surges, WP Scale auto-scales the PHP worker pool. We proactively alert you if traffic is approaching limits so there are no surprises.
Is wp-admin protected against brute force attacks?
xmlrpc.php is blocked by default. /wp-login.php has rate limiting and passive bot detection. You can whitelist your office IP for bypass. The Imunify360 WAF blocks known WordPress attack patterns in real time.
How long does migration take?
Most WordPress migrations complete in 2–4 hours. For large sites (50GB+ databases or media libraries), allow 12–24 hours. We migrate at night to minimise disruption. Your old site stays live until you DNS-switch, and we help you with that too.
Do you support WordPress Multisite?
Yes. WordPress Multisite is supported on WP Studio and WP Scale plans. Subdomain and subdirectory network configurations both work. Domain mapping for individual sites is also supported.
What PHP version do you use for WordPress?
PHP 8.3 by default, which is the fastest and most secure version for WordPress. You can switch to 8.2, 8.1, or 8.0 per site from the dashboard if a plugin isn't compatible yet. We recommend staying on 8.3 for performance.
Is backup restoration really one click?
Yes. Choose the backup date (up to 90 days back), choose whether to restore files, database, or both, and click restore. Restoration completes in 2–10 minutes depending on site size. You can also restore to staging first to verify before overwriting production.
What is your WordPress uptime SLA?
99.99% monthly. This is measured at the application level, not just the server ping — so a crashed PHP-FPM pool that keeps the server responding but breaks WordPress still counts against SLA. If we miss this, credits are applied automatically.
Can I access the database directly?
Yes. phpMyAdmin is available through cPanel for all plans. WP-CLI is available via SSH. On WP Scale, we also provide read-replica access for reporting queries so you're not hitting production databases.
Is there a setup fee or long-term contract?
